Some of the most clever paper engineering I’ve seen has resulted in the transformation of a pair of Paris Métro tickets into an itty bitty X-wing fighter. X-wing en tickets de métro step by step contains all the instructions you need to convert your Métro tickets into the premier starfighter of the Rebel Alliance.
In the “stunning waste of time better spent doing something productive” department, it’s hard to beat the list of company name etymologies at Biography.ms. There’s more trivia here than you’ll find in most very trivial things.

After some complaints about not being able to view the puppy images, I’ve resized them to a more manageable 800×600. The automatic popup image generation facility in Movable Type is pretty cool, but unresizable popup windows that contain 1600×1200 images won’t fit on most people’s monitors.
My apologies for the unusable images; they’re now a much [...]

Once Upon a Dime presents a little Flash game called 12 Pixel Heroes, in which you are asked to identify superheroes who have been reduced to a three by four grid of colored squares. I was able to identify 19 of the 21 heroes presented, despite the low resolution.
It says something about the visual impact [...]

Levitated is a site I keep going back to time and time again, because it contains an endless variety of mesmerizing and entertaining Flash animation. Unlike most of the gaudy Flash toys on the Web, Jared Tarbell’s creations are elegant, at times introspective, and always fascinating to watch. This is more than a collection of [...]
